8TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

Baze University held its 8th matriculation ceremony in the multipurpose hall on the school campus on Saturday, 25th February 2017.
The grand occasion was well attended by students, parents, staff and special guests to celebrate the new set of students. The dean of student affairs, Mr Oshioreamhe Aghedo anchored the full event. He welcomed all to the ceremony and invited the representative of the chief Imam of the National mosque for the opening prayer.
The vice chancellor, Prof. Tahir Mamman, OON, SAN took the stage and gave the opening address. He welcomed everyone and commended parents for taking the right decision for the nourishment of their children and bringing them to Baze University. He appreciated the pro chancellor for working on the innovation that brought the university to life. After this the registrar, Maj. Gen. Idris Inuwa (rtd.), administered the matriculation oath to students from Law, Engineering, Computing and Applied science, Management and Social sciences department in that order.
Prof. Bashir OFR representing the special guest of honor, Rt. Hon. Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal took to the stage and read remarks from the governor. Baze University identified people who contributed significantly to development of education in Nigeria. Brig. Gen. Haliru Akilu (rtd.), Mrs Maryam Mutallab Duba (director, noble hall leadership academy for girls) and Chief Mrs Justina Ulunma Chukwu (executive director, Doveland int. Schools Abuja) were celebrated, awarded and encouraged to do more. After the awardees were honored Brig. Gen. Haliru Akilu (rtd.) gave appreciation remarks on behalf of them all.
After that the founder and Pro chancellor, Sen. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed Ph.D, FSAN addressed the audience and appreciated everyone for making the event a success.
The first matriculation was for 17 students now the school is matriculating 641 students into 22 programs across 5 faculties. The former minister for education Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau also gave his remarks. He was here at the first matriculation and was happy to be here again. He encouraged Baze University to continue the good work.
The Deputy Vice-chancellor administration, David Ogbonna (Esq) gave the closing remarks. He thanked parents for choosing Baze University, assuring them their children were in the right hands and wished everyone safe journey back to their destinations. Dr. Emeka E. Ene, the dean of faculty of management and social sciences, took the closing prayer after which the national anthem was sung.
The guests of honor followed by matriculating students and then other guests exited the multipurpose hall and proceeded to the Onyewaru auditorium for refreshment.
