DELEGATION FROM THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION VISITS BAZE UNIVERSITY
A Delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO) at the Africa Regional Office in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, of Baze University, Prof. Tahir Mamman and the Management Team, on 4th March 2020. The delegation was led by Ms. Cynthia Samuel-Olonjuwon, Assistant Director General, and accompanied by Andrew Rugege, the Regional Director of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This was an Advocacy Visit to appraise the Management of Baze University on the Sustainable Skills Development Programme for Young People being executed by ILO and ITU. The initiative leverages on the growing digital markets in selected African countries (Cote D’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and Rwanda etc.) to train the youthful population in order to reduce unemployment and poverty in the continent.
