Oluremi E. Famodile started her career at Messrs. Larry Wilkey & Co. as a corp. member engaged majorly criminal and commercial litigation practice in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She proceeded to work as an associate counsel at Matrix Solicitors LLP, before joining the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association as the Director of Membership & Bar Services and subsequently as the Director of Administration until 2012, after which she worked with Akinboro & Co as a Senior Counsel and Head of Administration. She currently works as a full-time lecturer at the prestigious Faculty of Law of Baze University, where she has gathered a myriad of experiences in teaching a different subject modules such as the Law of Tort, Law of Contract, Law of Equity, Advanced Legal Theory and Social Justice, Legal Research and Writing, Environmental Law, Legal Methods, Administrative Law, Human Rights Law, Law and Management; etc.; using the Clinical Legal Education methodology in teaching and mentoring law students at the University both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She is also a member of Baze University Law Clinic and serves as a Supervisor of one of the teams working on Reforming Pretrial Detention in Kuje Prison (Reform Kuje Project) being implemented by PartnersGlobal, Partners West Africa Nigeria (PWA-N), the Network of University Law Institutions (NULAI), and New-Rule LLC (New-Rule) Washington DC, USA; to address gaps in the implementation of pre-trial detention provisions in the ACJA.

 

Ms. Famodile’s academic qualifications draw from having acquired her Bachelor of Laws degree (LL. B Honours) from the University of Lagos in 2002 and being called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2003. She holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Business Law at Anglia Ruskin University, U.K., and a Postgraduate degree in Sustainable Business at the University of Cambridge, U.K. She is currently undergoing a Ph.D. - Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University, USA. Professionally, she holds expertise and experience in various areas of law ranging from but not limited to Environmental Law and Sustainability, Criminal and Commercial Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Commercial Practice, Sports Arbitration and Administration, Legal Consultancy and Advisory, Pro-bono Legal Services as well as Teaching and Academic Research & Development experience in various areas of law.

Ms. Famodile has good advocacy, communication and presentation skills and is a good team player and builder.
