Okwute has over five years in the academic sector and earned both MSc and BSc in Human Physiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Nigeria. He is currently running a PhD program in Human Physiology at the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. As a lecturer in the Department of Human Physiology Baze University, Abuja. He teaches basic medical science students modules on physiology. Okwute founded I care for Nigeria Initiative (ICNI) a nonprofit sector in the year 2016 to encourage patriotism among youths. His research interest is on stress and neurophysiology; which he has published several articles on both local and international journals, and has presented in several conferences.
